to fathers with daughters – rupi kaur

This poem hit a nerve in me then sliced through my flesh like butter before lodging itself in my skull. ManTalks posted it on Instagram a few weeks ago and I haven’t been able to forget it. The poem is written by Canadian writer and artist, Rupi Kaur.

For me, it’s an intense yet important reminder that how fathers treat our daughters is a reflection of how they will expect to be treated when they grow up.

Apologies for the lack of blog posts recently. I’ve been working on some guest posts for parenting blogs. Keep an eye on my twitter and this website for updates.
